Fatal Dodge County car crash death of William McDonald – Obituary
William McDonald, a 42-year-old resident of Watertown, lost his life in a collision involving a semitruck on June 13 in Dodge County, Wisconsin. The fatal incident occurred around 10:10 a.m. on County A/I, just south of County S in the town of Oak Grove.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, McDonald was driving a silver 2012 Buick Regal northbound when he failed to properly navigate a slight curve in the road. His vehicle veered into the southbound lane and crashed into an oncoming semitruck that was pulling a trailer.
The force of the collision caused the semitruck to block both lanes of traffic, while McDonald’s car ended up against a tree on the east side of the roadway. Emergency personnel had to extricate McDonald from the wreckage, and he was airlifted to a hospital in Milwaukee. He was later pronounced dead.
The semitruck driver, a 50-year-old man from Richton Park, Illinois, sustained only minor injuries and received treatment at a hospital in Beaver Dam.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
