Fatal Statesville shooting death of Timmy Jaurice Moore – Obituary

Timmy Jaurice Moore, a 33-year-old resident of Statesville, lost his life following a shooting near Abernathy Ball Field on June 14, 2025. The Statesville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Deaton Street and the ball field. Upon arrival, officers found Moore in a nearby front yard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and legs.

Emergency responders provided immediate medical assistance and transported him to Iredell Memorial Hospital, where he later passed away. The Violent Crimes and Criminal Investigations Units launched an investigation, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Austin Ty’Kim “Kimby” Morrison has been identified as the suspect, and police have secured a murder warrant for him. Authorities are currently seeking Morrison’s whereabouts.

Officials have stated there is no evidence linking this shooting to a previous homicide on East Allison Street. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Statesville Police Department.
