Belinda Taylor dies in fatal Devon skydiving accident

Fatal Devon skydiving death of Belinda Taylor – Obituary

Belinda Taylor, a 48-year-old mother of four, lost her life in a skydiving disaster at Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon on Friday. She and her instructor died instantly after plummeting 15,000 feet during a tandem skydive.

Her partner, Scott Armstrong, had purchased the skydive as a heartfelt gift for Belinda, who loved adventurous activities. He described the horrifying moment he watched her fall after noticing that one parachute didn’t deploy.

Grabbing his son, Scott rushed to the landing site, where he tragically discovered Belinda and the instructor both dead at the scene.

Scott recounted that the original plan was a 7,000-foot jump, but Belinda opted for the 15,000-foot dive at the last moment. “She was so excited,” he said, adding, “She meant everything to me. Belinda was generous, full of energy, and welcomed my son into our home with love. I’m heartbroken.”

Belinda was the mother of three adult sons and a teenage daughter, and she also had two grandchildren. Her eldest son, Connor Bowles, described her as selfless and committed to her family’s happiness.

“She always put others before herself and left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her,” he said. The family has requested privacy as they mourn their loss.

The incident occurred during a tandem dive with Skydive Buzz, which operates regular jumps at the airfield. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the tragedy.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed both skydivers were declared dead at the scene and that their relatives have been notified. An investigation is underway with multiple agencies involved.
