Fatal Wake County drowning death of Adrian Basilio – Obituary

A tragic incident unfolded Saturday in Wake County, North Carolina, where 39-year-old Adrian Basilio drowned after going under the water and not resurfacing near Raleigh Beach Road, close to the Neuse River Greenway Trail.

Emergency teams responded to the scene following reports that a man had disappeared beneath the surface and was not seen again. Rescue crews, including divers and boat teams, initiated a search that lasted roughly two hours before Basilio’s body was recovered.

Helicopter footage captured search efforts from above, showing crews using poles and scanning the water from a nearby bridge. Multiple agencies participated in the search, including the Knightdale Fire Department, Wake Forest Fire Department, Wake County Emergency Management, Wake County EMS, and the police and fire departments from Raleigh.

Officials have advised the public to steer clear of the Raleigh Beach area for safety.
