Fatal Edinburg wrong-way crash death of Itzel Limas – Obituary

Itzel Limas, 28, from Edinburg, tragically died following a wrong-way collision on FM 2812 near Vista Bonita Drive early Sunday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash happened around 3:38 a.m. when the 2012 Honda Accord Limas was riding in was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe driving eastbound.

Limas, who was a passenger in the Honda, was taken to DHR Health with severe injuries and later died at the hospital.

The driver of the Honda and the two people inside the Hyundai also received hospital treatment but sustained less severe injuries. Alcohol was confirmed by DPS as a contributing factor in the incident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
