Fatal Joliet Township car crash death of Melissa Inchaurriga

A 23-year-old woman from Crest Hill, Melissa Inchaurriga, lost her life early Sunday following a vehicle accident in Joliet Township.

According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, Inchaurriga was pronounced deceased at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox at approximately 6:14 a.m.

The crash occurred around 12:26 a.m. when the Honda Civic she was operating left the roadway along U.S. Route 30, just north of Cherry Hill Road. Authorities have not yet released further details about what caused the crash.

The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
