On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at around 3:25 p.m., New York State Police based in Tarrytown responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of Interstate 87, close to exit 14A, in the town of Ramapo.

Initial findings suggest that a 2016 Honda Civic heading south lost control for reasons yet to be determined. The car veered off the right shoulder of the highway and collided with a tree.

The driver, Anysah P. Nelson, a 24-year-old resident of Middletown, New York, was treated by emergency personnel at the scene before being taken to Nyack Hospital. She was later declared dead at the hospital.
