Marcus Glover dies in fatal Orangeburg County car crash

Fatal Orangeburg County car crash death of Marcus Glover

Marcus Glover, 38, lost his life early Sunday morning after being struck by an ambulance in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.

Authorities reported that the fatal crash occurred around 5 a.m. on June 15 near the town of North, along U.S. Highway 321.

According to Sergeant Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the ambulance, a 2016 Ford model, was traveling southbound on U.S. 321 when it hit Glover, who was on foot near Mack Road.

Emergency personnel transported Glover to MUSC Health Orangeburg following the impact. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle confirmed Glover’s identity on Monday and stated that an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

There were no injuries reported among those inside the ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
