Rickey Hughes, a 65-year-old man from Enterprise, Alabama, died on Sunday afternoon following a crash at a busy intersection in Dale County.

The accident happened at the corner of Highway 231 and Roy Parker Road, near Dale Medical Center.

According to Coroner John Cawley, Hughes was on his motorcycle, stopped at a red light, when a northbound vehicle on Highway 231 collided with him.

Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ozark Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Division is investigating the crash.

His body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

Hughes had family ties in Dale County, and his death marks a tragic loss for the community.
