Fatal Port St. Lucie motorcycle crash death of Eduardo Alejandro Medrano

A 30-year-old man from Port St. Lucie lost his life following a motorcycle accident that occurred during the early morning hours of June 14.

Authorities identified the victim as Eduardo Alejandro Medrano. The crash took place around 2:15 a.m. in the 2100 block of Southeast Veterans Memorial Parkway, where Medrano was riding a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle southbound.

According to a preliminary report from police, Medrano was navigating a curve when he lost control of his motorcycle. The bike veered onto the grassy roadside and tipped onto its left side. As it slid past a palm tree, Medrano was thrown from the motorcycle.

Although he was wearing a helmet, Medrano struck the palm tree and suffered critical injuries. He was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators noted that high speed does not appear to have contributed to the crash. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have surveillance footage to contact Traffic Homicide Investigator S. Tomczyk at 772-871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at 800-273-8477.
