Fatal Kernersville car crash death of Rex Folkerts

A man who sustained critical injuries in a traffic collision last week in Kernersville has died, according to local authorities.

Police say the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Old Winston Road. The incident involved a Lifan scooter and a Kia vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rex Folkerts with serious injuries.

Folkerts was transported for medical care but succumbed to his injuries on Monday, police confirmed.

The Kernersville Police Department’s Traffic Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
