Fatal Fort Worth shooting death of Anthony Rangal
Anthony Rangal, 19, lost his life after being shot multiple times at a party early Sunday morning in Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at a residence on the 3700 block of N. Houston Street, where a gathering was underway. Authorities say Rangal sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and forearm and was later pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital.
Two other individuals were injured in the incident. One was taken to the hospital along with Rangal, while another was transported privately. The second victim is expected to recover, according to police statements.
Investigators reported that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting. No arrests had been made as of Monday.
Rangal’s death was one of several shootings over Father’s Day weekend in Fort Worth. Just hours later, another man was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Conejos Drive, further highlighting the violent weekend.
In total, five people died in the series of shootings reported in Fort Worth over the holiday weekend.
