Fatal St Mary car crash death of Alldine McLeggon

A tragic accident in St Mary early Monday morning claimed the life of 30-year-old Alldine McLeggon of Grant’s Town, while four of her relatives, including three children, sustained injuries.

The crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. as a Toyota Axio was heading from the Belfield Pen area toward the Wilderness community along the Trinity main road. According to police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a concrete column at the entrance of Tulloch’s Auto Parts.

All five occupants of the car were injured in the crash. Passers-by assisted in transporting them to the Port Maria Hospital. McLeggon succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment, while the other four—three minors and the driver—were treated and later discharged.

Authorities have confirmed that all passengers were family members.

Anthony Wallace, head of the St Mary Police Division, urged drivers to be vigilant, particularly at night, and to always adhere to speed limits to prevent such tragedies.
