Fatal Sacramento car crash death of Rayanna Lynne Diaz

Rayanna Lynne Diaz, a 28-year-old Sacramento resident, lost her life in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Sunday evening in the Rosemont area of Sacramento.

The crash happened at approximately 6 p.m. at the intersection of South Watt Avenue and Kiefer Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Diaz was driving an Infiniti when it collided with a Lexus. One of the vehicles reportedly ran a red light, though authorities had not yet determined which driver was at fault as of Monday morning.

Diaz was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Two passengers were in Diaz’s car at the time of the collision — a man who sustained moderate injuries and a juvenile who suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Lexus was uninjured.

The CHP has not yet confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played any role in the incident. The investigation remains active.
