Indianapolis Man Lamar Willis Arrested in Marion County for Murder

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Lamar Willis, a 27-year-old resident of Indianapolis, was arrested in Marion County in connection with the shooting death of 37-year-old Kierra Dotson in early September 2024.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), Willis was taken into custody after investigators used surveillance footage and technology to identify him as the suspect in the fatal shooting. The incident occurred on Lupine Drive, where Dotson was sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked car outside her home when she was shot by another driver.

Authorities say surveillance from the suspect’s home showed Willis leaving in a red Dodge before the shooting and returning two hours later. A juvenile witness also helped identify Willis as the shooter. Willis was charged with murder and is being held without bond pending trial.
