Saitama, Japan Man Jun Saito Arrested in Saitama City for Murder of Missing Woman
SAITAMA CITY, Japan — Jun Saito, a 31-year-old resident of Saitama City, was arrested in Saitama Prefecture in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Kaho Miyamoto, who had been missing since 2018.
According to Saitama Prefectural Police, Saito was taken into custody on May 15 during a search of his apartment following an unrelated theft arrest. Authorities discovered two skulls and other bones on a shelf in his home, confirming one belonged to Miyamoto. Police allege Saito killed Miyamoto after meeting her at JR Omiya Station on January 4, 2018, then dismembered her body at his residence.
Saito reportedly confessed to strangling Miyamoto with a rope, dismembering her body, and removing her SIM card from her phone. He stated he had “a murderous desire since childhood” and believed the act was consensual. Saito was transported to a detention facility and is currently facing charges related to the murder.
