Fatal Dublin shooting death of Jaquan Marquis Coney

A weekend shooting at Riverview Heights Apartments in Dublin has claimed the life of 31-year-old Jaquan Marquis Coney.

Dublin police have named two suspects in connection with the deadly incident: 27-year-old D’Anglo Marquez Martin and 24-year-old Quentavious Mercer. Authorities say warrants have been issued for both men.

The shooting happened early Saturday morning. Officers were called to the scene on Riverview Park Drive shortly before 3 a.m., where they discovered Coney on the ground with a suspected gunshot wound. Despite emergency aid at the scene, Coney did not survive.

By Monday afternoon, police confirmed that Martin had surrendered to law enforcement, while Mercer remains on the run.

This fatal incident occurred just one day before another death in Dublin. On Sunday morning, 49-year-old Pam Rozier was found deceased in her unit at Claxton Homes Apartment Complex. Investigators are treating her death as a possible homicide.

In that separate case, authorities have arrested 50-year-old Edward Johnson, who now faces a murder charge in Rozier’s death.

Anyone with details about Mercer’s location is urged to contact the Dublin Police Department at 478-277-5023 or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 12 Office.
