Three lives were tragically lost in a devastating head-on collision Saturday afternoon in Marysville, California, including 17-year-old Michael Mallison.

According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Highway 70 between Laurellen Road and 24th Street. A sedan carrying five individuals, among them a toddler, collided with a truck that had only its driver onboard.

All three people who died—Michael Mallison, 22-year-old Clint Waddell, and 22-year-old Salma Ramirez-Lujano—were occupants of the sedan and were declared dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The toddler sustained injuries, though the extent has not yet been disclosed. Meanwhile, both the driver of the truck and another person from the sedan suffered significant injuries and were taken for emergency medical treatment.

Authorities have not released any information regarding the cause of the crash as of Sunday, and the investigation remains ongoing.
