Jesse Jones, a 36-year-old man from Middletown, was fatally shot early Monday morning in a parking lot outside Bar II on Elliott Drive. The Jesse Jones dies in fatal Middletown shooting occurred around 2:44 a.m. when police responded to reports of gunfire at the location.

Upon arrival, officers found Jones and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman and two other victims later sought medical treatment at area hospitals. Three of those injured remain hospitalized.

Authorities believe the altercation started in the parking lot rather than inside the bar. Police Chief Earl Nelson noted the department had no recent calls involving Bar II and confirmed that a suspect has yet to be identified. Investigators have collected surveillance footage from nearby buildings as part of the ongoing inquiry.
