Fatal Tarrant County dog attack death of Ronald Charles Anderson

Ronald Charles Anderson, an 82-year-old man from Fort Worth, was fatally mauled by dogs while tending to his yard in Tarrant County on Monday afternoon, authorities reported.

Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office responded around 4 p.m. to the 7800 block of Slay Street, located just south of Eagle Mountain Lake, after receiving reports of a dog attack. Upon arrival, they discovered Anderson with injuries that were consistent with dog bites. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed the victim’s identity as Ronald Charles Anderson. Deputies confiscated three dogs from a neighboring residence during the response.

According to Anderson’s daughter, Cinda Sackett, the dogs had entered her father’s property through a gap in the fence and had previously shown aggressive behavior toward other residents. She expressed deep frustration and said the tragedy was entirely avoidable.

The Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident but has not yet confirmed whether the owner of the dogs will face criminal charges.
