Fatal Fresno shooting death of Julian Garcia

Authorities have identified 27-year-old Julian Garcia as the man who was fatally shot early Friday morning in southwest Fresno.

The shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at an apartment complex near Plumas and East Lorena avenues following a ShotSpotter alert detecting three gunshots.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered Garcia suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators reported that Garcia had engaged in an argument with another man in the parking lot of the complex before the shooting took place.

No details have been released about the suspect, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Fresno Police Department.
