Authorities in Macon County have confirmed that 19-year-old Hannah E. Claghorn of Mount Zion lost her life after being struck by a train while riding her bicycle on Wednesday, June 19.

According to Macon County Coroner Michael D. Burkham, Claghorn was hit by a Canadian National train in the Mount Zion area. Emergency services responded to the scene, but she was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.
