John M. Melton dies in fatal Livingston County crash

Fatal Livingston County crash death of John M. Melton

John M. Melton, 54, of Seneca, was pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle collision on Thursday morning in Livingston County, authorities confirmed.

The crash occurred around 10:40 a.m. on Route 170 when Melton, driving a Dodge Neon, stopped at a stop sign and entered the intersection. A pickup truck traveling west attempted to stop but struck the driver’s side of Melton’s car, forcing it into a ditch on the southwest side.

The impact caused severe damage to the driver’s side door and front end of Melton’s vehicle. An autopsy revealed he died from blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and chest. No citations have been issued yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
