Gabriel Villa dies in fatal Lancaster shooting

Fatal Lancaster shooting death of Gabriel Villa

An 18-year-old man who was fatally shot in Lancaster has been identified as Gabriel Villa, officials confirmed Monday.

Authorities say the gunfire broke out around 9:25 p.m. Thursday night in the 2100 block of East Avenue J-8, just west of 22nd Street East. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported Villa to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead shortly after arrival.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later released his identity to the public.
