Fatal Odenton shooting death of Monyette Marie Stephenson

Monyette Marie Stephenson, 45, was found shot to death inside a vehicle Monday morning in Odenton, Maryland, prompting a homicide investigation.

Anne Arundel County Police say they responded to a call just after 10 a.m. reporting a woman discovered dead in a car parked on the 1800 block of Bucklina Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located Monyette suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. No firearm was found at the scene, leading investigators to determine that the death was not a suicide.

Detectives later reviewed surveillance footage which led them to identify Trimall Stephenson, Monyette’s estranged husband, as the suspected shooter.

Authorities report that Trimall, who worked for Smith Bus Service, was found in Hamilton, New Jersey, at a rest stop. As officers approached him, he took his own life with a gunshot.

Police believe the attack was specifically targeted and say there is no current threat to the public. Anne Arundel investigators are now working with New Jersey State Police to gather further information in the case.
