Fatal Surprise shooting death of Jason Pine

Jason Pine died following a shooting incident in Surprise on June 20th. According to the Surprise Police Department, the fatal shooting stemmed from a family disturbance involving the victim and his sibling.

Surprise police were dispatched to the scene around 11 p.m. on June 20th near Reems and Waddell roads after receiving a report concerning a disturbance. The responding officers discovered that the incident began with an altercation between brothers Jason and Justin Pine.

Upon arrival, police found Jason Pine suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Medical personnel provided emergency care, but unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the location.

Surprise police have stated they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the argument that led to the fatal shooting. The agency has not released further details regarding the events preceding the confrontation.

Separately, Justin Pine was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently booked into jail on charges including second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and disorderly conduct. His initial court appearance has been scheduled for June 26th.
