Fatal Bryant shooting death of Michael Jennings, Monica Jennings, and Kayla Mitchell
Three members of the same family were discovered dead inside a residence in Bryant on Sunday morning, with the incident now under investigation as a triple homicide. The victims were identified as 63-year-old Michael Jennings, 55-year-old Monica Jennings, and 32-year-old Kayla Mitchell.
Police responded to the home on Lena Drive at approximately 7:30 a.m., where they found all three individuals deceased from what are believed to be gunshot wounds. The victims were related to Jarrod Mitchell, who has been taken into custody in connection to the killings.
Authorities stated that Michael Jennings was either the biological or stepfather of Jarrod Mitchell, while Monica Jennings was his mother and Kayla Mitchell was his sister.
Jarrod Mitchell, 34, was apprehended later that same day around 3:30 p.m. by Bryant police and Saline County deputies. He was initially described as a person of interest and is now being held on a $2 million bond pending further investigation.
