Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — A 47-year-old man has been identified as the victim of the deadly shooting reported on Rosecrest Avenue last Wednesday. Authorities have determined that Rashad Baylor of Richmond was the individual shot during the incident.

On Wednesday, June 18, at 9:56 p.m., Richmond Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Rosecrest Avenue. Upon arrival, responders found the injured man on the ground. Medical personnel immediately began treatment, recognizing the severity of his gunshot wound.

Baylor was transported to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for life-threatening injuries. Despite the medical intervention, the 47-year-old man succumbed to his wounds later that week.
