Fatal Belle Plaine shooting/car crash death of Robert Kendall Sheehan
Robert Kendall Sheehan, a 62-year-old man from Epping, North Dakota, passed away following a serious traffic collision in Belle Plaine, located in Scott County.
Law enforcement officials reported the incident occurred on Tuesday evening. The initial report stated a motorcyclist collided with another vehicle around 8:45 p.m.
Further investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office revealed the deceased motorcyclist was traveling southbound on County Road 7. It was determined that he had crossed into the path of northbound traffic before being involved in the crash with the Chevrolet Impala.
The extent of the injuries from the collision proved fatal for Mr. Sheehan. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Robert Kendall Sheehan. Sheriff Luke Hennen expressed sympathy for the victim’s family during this tragic event.
The driver of the Impala, a 20-year-old individual from Cologne, sustained only minor injuries and was not considered to be under the influence at the time of the accident. No other occupants were present in the vehicle. Preliminary findings suggested the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol could potentially have contributed to the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
