Fatal Salina, Kansas car crash death of Jagjeevan Singhth
A semi-truck driver from New York lost their life in a serious accident on a major highway Wednesday evening. The incident occurred on the westbound lanes of Interstate 70, positioned near the Ohio Street exit in Salina. Emergency services were dispatched to the location shortly after the crash was first reported around 9:49 p.m.
According to preliminary findings from the Kansas Highway Patrol, the 2019 Freightliner semitrailer that was involved crossed into the left lane without a clear reason before veering off the road. The driver, who was identified as Jagjeevan Singhth, a 27-year-old from Flora Park, New York, managed to exit the vehicle in an unusual manner.
The truck subsequently collided with the south guardrail, then rolled onto its side and ended up blocking a portion of the westbound traffic flow on I-70. First responders confirmed that Singhth was pronounced deceased at the scene, and it was noted that he had been wearing his seat belt, which may have contributed to the outcome.
Investigators are still examining the exact cause for the driver’s decision to leave the roadway, but no indications of foul play are currently being considered. The crash has resulted in significant traffic delays, prompting local authorities to alert drivers about the situation.
