Fatal McHenry County, IL car crash death of Donald Markham
Donald Markham, a fifty-year-old resident of Belvidere, has been identified by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office as the victim of a two-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday morning near Woodstock. The fatal accident transpired at approximately 6 a.m. on Kishwaukee Valley Road and South Hughes Road in the unincorporated section of Woodstock.
Paramedics pronounced Markham deceased at the scene after he was involved in the accident while driving a pickup truck. The other vehicle, a commercial truck, was driven by a man who received medical evaluation from emergency responders at the location but subsequently declined any further treatment.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that blunt force trauma was the direct cause of Markham’s death. Toxicology tests are currently underway to rule out any potential contributing factors. The Woodstock Fire District responded to the incident and addressed the diesel fuel spill resulting from the collision.
This tragic event marks the second fatality in McHenry County involving a commercial vehicle incident within the past month. Authorities continue to investigate the underlying causes of this morning’s accident.
