Maryland authorities are actively examining a tragic pedestrian collision that took place during the early hours of the morning in Worcester County. The unfortunate victim identified in this incident is Dehart Herbert Lamb, Jr., a resident of Snow Hill, Maryland, who was 69 years old. Emergency medical services confirmed his passing at the location where the accident occurred.
Initial reports received by State Police troopers assigned to the Berlin Barrack around 4:21 a.m. detailed a pedestrian collision on Route 12, commonly known as Snow Hill Road, near Carmean Road. According to early findings from the investigation, Lamb was walking along Snow Hill Road when he was struck by a motor vehicle. The involved vehicle stayed at the scene, and preliminary assessments by law enforcement suggest that factors related to impairment were not considered relevant to the incident.
To address the situation, additional support was provided by Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies, alongside officers from the Pocomoke City Police Department and the Snow Hill Police Department. The Maryland Department of Transportation, specifically the State Highway Administration, also dispatched personnel to manage the closure and eventual reopening of the affected roadways.
