A serious collision on Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a woman who was driving a vehicle that lost control on Interstate 95 South. The car was reportedly moving at an excessive speed and swerving in congested traffic. According to reports, the driver crossed the center divider to pass another slower vehicle before attempting to return to their lane, resulting in a loss of vehicle control. The car crossed multiple southbound lanes and then departed the roadway, ending up striking a bridge structure. Emergency services responded to the scene and confirmed that 25-year-old Kayanna McCallum, the sole occupant of the vehicle, did not survive her injuries. Following the incident, authorities conducted an inspection of the bridge and concluded that it remains safe for public travel.
