A young man, 22 years old, has been confirmed as the individual killed following a shooting event at a Speedway gas station close to the University of Dayton earlier this week.
According to the information released Friday by Dr. Kent Harshbarger, the official medical examiner for Montgomery County, Amadou Diallo passed away at Miami Valley Hospital subsequent to the shooting which took place during the early hours of Monday morning. The preliminary reason for death and the official determination of how the shooting occurred are still being looked into by the medical examiner’s office.
Around 12:10 in the early morning of Monday, law enforcement officers and medical emergency responders were dispatched to the Speedway gas station, situated at the junction of East Stewart and Brown streets. Healthcare professionals then conveyed Diallo to the hospital, and the Dayton Police Department’s Homicide Division is currently examining the incident.
