Fatal Galveston shooting death of Armando Ventura
Police arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting in Galveston early Wednesday morning that left one person dead and two hospitalized. According to authorities, 25-year-old Johnathan Lee of Galveston was arrested Thursday on charges of murder and aggravated assault related to the incident on Avenue E.
The victim who died, 31-year-old Armando Ventura from La Marque, was located inside a vehicle at the scene and pronounced dead due to multiple gunshot wounds.
A 29-year-old man was also found shot multiple times, discovered near 25th Street and Avenue G. He received serious gunshot injuries but is expected to make a full recovery according to officials.
A third individual, a 25-year-old man, sustained non-gunshot related injuries and was hospitalized. He was found in the 2400 block of Avenue.
Investigators allege that Lee was the only person shooting during the confrontation involving the three victims.
