A man identified as Joseph McGinnis, 43, faces murder charges following a fatal shooting inside a Tacony 7-Eleven. According to authorities, McGinnis shot and killed 55-year-old Tyrone Brown before barricading himself inside a nearby residence, leading to a police standoff.
Investigators reported that the incident began with a verbal confrontation inside the store. After the fatal shooting, McGinnis fled the scene and took shelter in a house on Tulip Street, where law enforcement conducted a brief operation to apprehend him.
Witness accounts suggest the altercation started outside the store before escalating inside. A witness familiar with Brown shared fond memories of the victim, describing him as a pleasant person who frequented the store.
