The incident occurred when the 43-year-old Ronderick D. Duhon, who is a resident of Lafayette, was operating his motorcycle eastbound along the 200 block of Alcide Dominique Drive. He subsequently lost control of the vehicle, collided with a sidewalk edge, and the bike went down. Medical personnel confirmed that he did not survive the injuries he sustained at the accident site.
A companion who was on the motorcycle at the time was transported to a medical institution and is currently in a stable health state.
