A man from Burgettstown has died after a single-vehicle accident occurring Friday evening in Hanover Township, Washington County. The incident proved fatal to Michael Brent Miller, who was 28 years old.

According to the Washington County Coroner, Timothy Warco, Miller was driving westbound on state Route 22 when his car departed the roadway and collided with a tree between mile markers 3 and 4. The investigation into this fatal crash is currently being handled by Pennsylvania State Police.

Emergency medical services from Fort Cherry EMS responded alongside support from the Hanover, Hancock (West Virginia), Weirton (West Virginia), and local fire departments. The responding personnel arrived at the scene promptly after a motorist contacted Washington County dispatch at 9:23 p.m.

It has been reported that Mr. Miller was not utilizing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Medical officials confirmed his death as a direct result of injuries sustained in the crash.
