A prominent figure, Steven Twizell, has passed away in a healthcare facility several days after an accident involving a two-wheeled vehicle and a recreational vehicle occurred near Lochend. The incident transpired on Thursday, June 19th, 2025.

First responders arrived promptly at the scene. The motorcyclist, Steven Twizell, hailing from Armadale in West Lothian, was conveyed to a medical center in Aberdeen. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries a week later on Thursday, June 26th, 2025.
Emergency medical teams provided care for the 46-year-old male operating the campervan. He was treated at a medical facility as a preventative measure but has since been released from the hospital.
