Pramukh Nanda dies in fatal Ahmedabad plane crash
Fatal Ahmedabad plane crash death of Pramukh Nanda
A prominent figure in India’s automobile industry, Pramukh Nanda, tragically lost his life in the Air India plane crash that occurred on June 12th, 2025, shortly after departure from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The accident, which claimed the lives of 241 people headed for London, saw only one survivor.
Nanda, who celebrated his 48th birthday just five days prior to the flight, was traveling with his wife, Neha, and their young son, Pravesh, to attend the graduation ceremony of his older son, Pratham in the United Kingdom. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed into the BJ Medical College and Hospital shortly after takeoff. News of the devastating incident sent shockwaves through the Indian automobile sector, as Nanda was a highly respected figure in the industry.
Following the tragedy, Pratham, who was just 22 years old, and Nanda’s elderly parents faced an unimaginable loss. The young man, who was deeply affected by his father’s death, now found himself thrust into the responsibility of managing the family’s automobile business across four cities in India.
The sudden passing of Pramukh Nanda and his family members has left the automotive industry and his extensive network of associates reeling from the loss. Nanda was part of the Cargo Group, with connections to major automotive companies like Tata Motors and Mahindra. Pranav Shah, the chairman of the Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Association (FADA) in Gujarat, described Nanda as a “pillar of knowledge and support” within the automobile sector.
Meanwhile, the owners of Air India have announced plans to compensate the families of the victims. The incident also claimed the life of Akash Patni, a teenager who was resting near his family’s tea stall. His mother, Sita, survived the crash with injuries but remains unaware of her son’s fate due to the proximity of the tragedy.
