Fatal Cook County car crash death of Justin Fasnacht
On Friday evening, two motorcyclists were involved in a fatal accident on a state highway in the western suburbs of Chicago, according to the Illinois State Police.
Around 9:51 p.m., authorities reported that state troopers arrived at the scene of a deadly collision on Illinois 394, near Dyer Road. One motorcyclist, Justin Fasnacht, aged 22 from Crown Point, Indiana, was taken to a regional hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, as stated by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The other motorcyclist, Sarah Gudeman, who was also 24 and from northwest Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators from the police concluded that both riders were moving north on Illinois 394 when Fasnacht collided with Gudeman from behind. The highway was closed for several hours to allow for the ongoing examination, but it was reopened by Saturday morning.
As of Saturday evening, the reasons behind Fasnacht’s actions leading to the rear-end collision were still unknown, and the investigation continued.
