Fatal Columbus crash death of Nathan Downard
Columbus police reports indicate that an individual was crossing the street east of Lechner Avenue without using a marked crossing area. At the same time, Nathan Downard, who was 27 years old and traveling on a motorcycle in the westbound direction, collided with that person, as per law enforcement.
This impact led to Downard’s motorcycle becoming unstable, causing it to be hit from behind by an oncoming Ford sedan driven by an adult, according to the available information.
The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. Nathan Downard was taken to Grant Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries.
The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is examining this case. Officials are asking anyone with additional details to contact the Columbus Division of Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS while maintaining anonymity.
