An elderly person, specifically an 82-year-old female, lost her life in a serious motor vehicle incident occurring in the early hours of Saturday afternoon on U.S. Route 36, situated in the Scioto Township region. According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the event involved a silver-colored Buick automobile, piloted by a young driver who was 17 years of age, moving in the eastern direction when it unfortunately crossed over the central median. This action led to a direct head-on collision with a Honda vehicle, which was being operated by Brenda Farley, a resident of Mechanicsburg in Ohio, and she was proceeding westward at that time.
Following the collision, the Honda car deviated from its path and ended up hitting a depression on the right side of the road, while the Buick sedan similarly departed the roadway on the opposite side and also landed in a ditch. Brenda Farley was declared deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The 17-year-old operator of the Buick was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital for treatment, but it was reported that the injuries were relatively light.
