Tamara Rowe dies in fatal Bronx stabbing

Fatal Bronx stabbing death of Tamara Rowe

Tamara Rowe, 40, was fatally stabbed inside her Bronx apartment on Saturday evening, authorities confirmed. She was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from stab wounds to her chest and right arm.

The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. at her residence on East 232nd Street, near White Plains Road. According to police, Rowe was attacked by her romantic partner. Neighbors, who said Rowe lived with her husband and their daughter, expressed shock and disbelief over the violence.

Cheryl Thompson, a 48-year-old neighbor, remarked that the couple appeared peaceful and had never shown signs of conflict. “There was no reason. No argument, no nothing,” she said.

Although officials have not confirmed the legal status of the relationship, residents in the building consistently referred to the suspect as Rowe’s husband. Surveillance footage reportedly captured him leaving the apartment before officers arrived, descending the stairwell from their top-floor unit.

The building superintendent, known as Andy, said he was deeply shaken by the incident. He recalled how both adults worked diligently and that he sometimes watched their daughter while they were away.

Other residents echoed sentiments of disbelief, describing the couple as quiet and loving parents. “I’ve never seen them argue,” said a neighbor named Nana, who lives next door. Another neighbor who shares a wall with the family said, “I’m trying to wrap my brain around this.”

Police are continuing their search for the man they believe to be responsible, described only as Rowe’s romantic partner.
