Fatal Fayetteville car crash death of Jermaine Stubbs

Law enforcement authorities in Fayetteville confirmed Saturday that a third individual sustained severe injuries in a car accident that had already taken two lives. The incident occurred Friday afternoon on Cedar Creek Road.

The collision was reported around 4:25 p.m. in the vicinity of the 1400 block of Cedar Creek Road, close to LA Dunham Road.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers stated that the driver of a Dodge Charger heading north collided with a southbound Honda. The Charger’s driver, identified as Jermaine Stubbs, age 42, and his passenger, Hope Bryant, age 41, both residents of Fayetteville, perished at the scene.

The occupants of the Honda, Marcia Adair-Davis, age 51, from Fayetteville, survived the initial impact but later succumbed to her injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A third person inside the Charger suffered critical injuries.

The accident location is approximately one mile west of Interstate 95. Police indicated that excessive speed likely caused the Dodge Charger to lose control.
