Fatal New Hampshire stabbing death of Cheryl Stoddard
Law enforcement officials reported that a 24-year-old female was taken into custody and indicted for the lethal attack on her mother in New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office disclosed that Brynn Comtois is being prosecuted with one count of second-degree murder, which is attributed to her alleged carelessness resulting in her mother’s passing.
According to authorities, Seabrook police were alerted by a 9-1-1 call at about 11:18 p.m. on Sunday and went to the Rockingham Village Apartments, where officers encountered Cheryl Stoddard, aged 45, found her lifeless with an obvious puncture injury.
A formal arrest order for Comtois was obtained on Monday, and the young woman was subsequently arrested.
The Attorney General’s office stressed that the allegations against Brynn Comtois are only preliminary suspicions, and she is considered not guilty until a conviction is secured.
An examination of Stoddard’s body is set for Monday, and the inquiry into her death is still in progress.
