Officials confirmed that a fatal one-car incident occurred on U.S. 301 in Ulmer. The 20-year-old individual from Estill, Marcus Antonio Garvin, did not survive the accident.
Law enforcement personnel from the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported the collision took place shortly after dawn on Sunday morning. Specifically, the event happened near the junction of U.S. 301 and Wells Branch Road at 7:46 a.m.
Investigators stated that the involved vehicle, a 2018 Honda Accord, was heading north when it departed the roadway. It subsequently collided with a tree off the left side of the road.
According to the troopers, there were three occupants in the automobile at the time. Tragically, the driver, identified as Marcus Antonio Garvin, perished at the crash site. The two other individuals inside the car were transported to a medical facility by emergency services.
The Allendale County Coroner’s Office has indicated that an autopsy is currently being considered to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the fatality.
