Fatal North Las Vegas truck crash death of Benjamin Iraheta Castellanos

A 25-year-old man from North Las Vegas lost his life in a serious collision involving two commercial trucks. The incident happened very early in the morning on a highway in Lincoln County.

The collision took place at 1:30 a.m. on June 25th at mile marker 15 on U.S. Highway 93 in Lincoln County. Authorities identified the deceased driver through the Nevada Highway Patrol as Benjamin Iraheta Castellanos.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the scenario began with a white 2021 Isuzu cargo truck heading south. The driver of this Isuzu vehicle deviated from their lane and moved into the path of an oncoming truck. This oncoming truck was a newer 2025 Freightliner Cascadia semi-trailer truck being pulled by a tractor.

The statement continued, “The Isuzu truck collided with the front left side of the Freightliner. The Isuzu then spun in the opposite direction and stopped on the shoulder area, facing southwest. Meanwhile, the Freightliner continued moving northeast and also stopped on the shoulder but closer to the southeast side.”

“The driver of the Isuzu, Benjamin Iraheta Castellanos, did not survive the injuries he received that day and was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

The Nevada Highway Patrol reported that this was one of the 32 fatal crashes they investigated during the year 2025, leading to a total of 33 fatalities.
