Fatal Albemarle shooting death of Lucio Carranco
Police in Albemarle, North Carolina, arrested a suspect Monday evening in connection with a double homicide that stemmed from a domestic altercation.
Authorities say officers responded around 5:35 p.m. to a residence on Amhurst Street, where they discovered the bodies of 33-year-old Lucio Carranco and 34-year-old Jesus Carranco inside the home.
Alex Meras, 23, was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder as well as one count of attempted first-degree murder.
Although investigators confirmed that a domestic dispute preceded the deadly shooting, further details on the nature of the conflict have not yet been released.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
