Shreveport authorities are examining a deadly road incident after a female body was located Saturday morning in an undeveloped parking area. Responding personnel arrived at the 2100 block of Laurel Street early in the morning and encountered the deceased. She was declared dead at the site by emergency medical services.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Division has officially named the individual as Rosalind Jordan, who was 70 years old. Initial findings from the investigation indicate the victim was walking in the westbound direction of Laurel Street when she was contacted by an unregistered automobile proceeding in the same path.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office secured the remains for additional analysis. In a public statement, Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed deep sorrow over the incident, emphasizing the necessity of public cooperation to identify the responsible party. “This represents a tragic and unjust loss of life,” Smith stated. “Community involvement is essential to provide clarity and hold accountable those responsible.”
